Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro Design Leaked Again, This Time via Case Renders

Google is expected to launch its next-generation flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, later this year. While the official announcement is still months away, the design of the devices has been leaked multiple times in the past few weeks. The latest leak comes from a reliable source who has shared some case renders of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on Twitter.

The case renders reveal some key details about the design of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Both devices will feature a punch-hole display with thin bezels and a curved edge on the Pro model. The rear camera module will be rectangular with three sensors and an LED flash on the Pixel 8 Pro and two sensors and an LED flash on the Pixel 8. The fingerprint scanner will be located under the display on both devices. The case renders also show the placement of the power button, volume rocker, USB-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray.

The case renders are in line with the previous leaks that have shown the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in different colors and angles. According to the rumors, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will sport a 6.4-inch and a 6.7-inch OLED display respectively, with a 120Hz refresh rate on the Pro model. The devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Pixel 8 Pro will also support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The camera department is expected to be one of the major upgrades on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 8 Pro will reportedly feature a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto sensor with 4x optical zoom. The Pixel 8 will have a similar setup but without the telephoto lens. The front-facing camera will be a 12MP sensor on both devices. The devices will also support features like Night Sight, Portrait Mode, Astrophotography Mode, and Motion Mode.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will run on Android 12 out of the box with the new Material You design language and improved privacy and security features. The devices will also offer exclusive features like Google Assistant, Google Lens, Google Photos, Google Pay, and more. The battery capacity of the devices is not known yet but they are expected to support fast charging with a 30W adapter.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are rumored to launch in October or November this year along with other Google products like the Pixel Watch, Pixel Buds A-Series, and Nest Hub Max. The pricing of the devices is also not confirmed yet but they are likely to compete with other flagship smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, OnePlus 9 series, iPhone 13 series, and more.
